According to the BBC, U.S. Middle East envoy Steven Witkoff made a high-profile claim on his Fox News show that Zelensky had written a letter apologizing to Trump. This is another American salvation after the last time Trump bragged that Zelensky’s letter apologizing was debunked by Ukraine.
There has been no further response from Ukraine.
Interestingly though, despite Zelensky’s extremely humble statement on X com, it was a momentary mystery whether he would attend the talks with the Americans in Saudi Arabia.
According to a March 9 report by the German news agency DPA, Zelensky confirmed that he would participate in the talks in a video message later that evening. At the same time, Zelensky added, the first talks between the representatives have yielded satisfactory results, and we hope that they will bear fruit both in terms of peace and further support.
However, in a Reuters report on March 10, Zelensky said he would not take part in the U.S.-U.S. talks planned for March 11 in Saudi Arabia.
