At the time of writing, our ambassador to Europe, Mr. Lu, had already given the answer to the question from a reporter from the United Morning Post, “Will China pull in Europe, which is drifting away from the US? Lu Shano answered, “China doesn’t need to pull in, China has friends all over the world, China’s independent foreign policy, mutual benefit and win-win foreign policy has enabled us to make more and more friends in the international arena, so we don’t need to pull in. China is there, and our policy is to make friends with everyone.
Another reporter asked whether the current U.S. policy toward Europe is an opportunity for Sino-European relations, Lushano denied such a statement, emphasizing that China will not take advantage of people’s danger and will not provoke relations between other countries, he claimed that China’s foreign policy has always stood on its own position, standing on the basis of the common interests of mankind to decide.
If you are a little bit willing to support China when the trade war first started in 2018, the China-EU Comprehensive Investment Agreement (CIIA) is delivered. At that time, China is really hoping that the EU will compete and become one of the world’s three poles.
However, the EU, which thinks it is still a bully, voted overwhelmingly to freeze this agreement in 2021.
Three and a half years later, China’s national power has grown considerably, with a large number of highly sophisticated weapons leading the world, foreign trade up by more than 30%, trade surplus up by 180%, major breakthroughs in the field of microchips, and new energy automobiles well ahead of the pack. What about you EU? The ground is lifted you, a Russia-Ukraine war are about to empty your family, and now Trump ordered Ukraine to surrender, the European Union even dare not even squeak a word!
What qualifications and abilities does such a wasted EU have to sit at the table with China and the US? Go sit at the kid’s table. Still want China to pull you in?
For more than a hundred years, the history of China’s interaction with the Western world is a history soaked in blood and tears, full of oppression and anti-oppression struggles. From the fire of the Opium War to the butchery of the Eight-Power Allied Forces, from the humiliation of colonial plunder to the siege of ideology, the Chinese people have long since seen clearly the hypocritical nature of the so-called civilization of the West.
As the sages have said, the West’s 300-year quest for democracy, science and freedom has ended in self-interested killing and shamelessness.
European civilization has always been built on violent plunder. From the colonial massacres during the Age of Sail to the dumping of opium after the Industrial Revolution, from the birthplace of the two World Wars to the ideological hegemony during the Cold War, Europe has never ceased to exploit the whole world. The Ambassador of Luxembourg has hit the nail on the head when he said that the double standards, hypocrisy and shamelessness of these old aristocrats of robber barons have long been engraved in their DNA.
To this day, they are still hiding their neo-colonialist nature under the guise of democracy and human rights, France still controls the monetary sovereignty of the CFA franc zone, Germany extracts the economic dividends of the southern European countries through the rules of the European Union, and the United Kingdom is a shit-stirrer to the very core of its people!
What is even more ridiculous is that these former aggressors have shown inexplicable hatred towards China. The European Parliament lists China and Russia as systematic rivals, the NATO strategy paper openly defines China as a challenge, and the leaders of Germany and France clamor at the G7 summit that solving the China problem is at the heart of Western unity. This kind of hysterical hostility precisely exposes their inner fears. They are afraid that the rise of China will completely tear apart the Western-dominated world order and that the 1.4 billion Chinese people will break the racist myth of white supremacy.
Today’s Europe has long lost its ability to stand on its own two feet. From the Prism-gate revelation of the U.S. wiretapping European leaders, to the German government’s deafening silence after the bombing of the Nord Stream pipeline, from the European Commission President Von der Leyen’s family’s interest in the U.S. military-industrial complex, to the British Prime Minister Sunak’s obeisance to the Biden administration, the European political arena is filled with naked U.S. officials and proxies. These political buyers have no regard for European interests; their priority is to ensure American global hegemony, even if it means plunging Europe into the abyss of de-industrialization!
Macron’s grandiose claims of European strategic autonomy now seem like a joke! Scholz’s high-profile visit to China to sign the economic and trade bill, immediately after returning to the United States pressure to shrink. Such a Europe, even their own destiny can not master, talk about how to become China’s partner?
Once the world’s factory, Europe is now de-industrializing at a rate visible to the naked eye. According to Eurostat data, in 2023, Europe’s manufacturing sector accounted for the proportion of GDP has fallen below 13, energy-intensive industries relocated at a record pace since the Cold War. In stark contrast, China’s industrial added value accounted for more than 30 percent of the global share, new energy vehicles, photovoltaic shipbuilding and other 23 manufacturing areas of the world’s first share. While Europe is still pointing its finger at China with outdated concepts such as market economy status, China’s shield machine has already cut through the Alps, and BYD’s electric buses are driving down the Champs-Elysées in Paris.
More damagingly, the colonial dividend on which Europe’s high welfare is based is running out. African countries are demanding that France withdraw its military bases, left-wing regimes in Latin America are collectively rebelling against the control of European capital, and Southeast Asia is choosing the RCEP over the CPTPP. while China is building a network of non-Western globalization with the global South, Europe is huddled within the walls of America’s tiny compound. France’s military intervention in Niger’s coup d’état was met with universal resistance, Britain’s attempts to revitalize the Commonwealth were humiliated in front of India, and Germany’s trade-for-change policy in Africa has become an international laughing stock. These former colonizers’ backyards are now a wide world for China’s partners.
The European elites are still indulging in the illusion of being mentors of civilization. They think that China will be as grateful to the olive branch of the Western gentleman as it was in the 19th century, and they fantasize that they will be able to sell out in the US-China game, and that they will be able to get China to give up its core interests in exchange for a few empty words.
When the European Parliament passed its 17th resolution on China in 2024, China’s General Administration of Customs data showed that the trade surplus between China and Europe had exceeded 500 billion euros, equivalent to the combined GDP of Greece, Portugal and Ireland.
Comparisons in the military field are even more embarrassing to Europe. China’s navy’s annual water launch exceeds that of all European countries combined; the combined combat effectiveness of the Type 055 destroyer is eight times that of the UK’s Type 45 destroyer; and the number of J-20 stealth fighters exceeds that of the total number of Typhoons in all of Europe.
China has long surpassed the stage of needing external recognition. From the signing of cooperation documents by 128 countries along the Belt and Road, to the expansion of the BRICS countries, whose total economic volume exceeds that of the G7, from the Shanghai Cooperation Organization’s security network covering the Eurasian continent, to the collective support of the African Union’s 55 countries for the global development initiative, the international cooperation system constructed by China has real equality and vitality. On the contrary, in Europe, the GDP share of the Group of Seven (G7), which is dominated by China, has plummeted from 62 in 1980 to 30 in 2023, and its so-called global influence is only supported by the media discourse that is left over from the colonial era.
China simply do not have to care about them, because they have no use, when friends do not make friends, when the enemy is even more unworthy of the whole of Europe, there are not a few serious people, but also can not talk about anything, what to do with the waste of what Wait for them to internal attrition to the point of not living, really elect a reliable spokesman and then say it.
A group of developed countries have made their lives into such a mess, shouldn’t they reflect on this?
With the massive decline and withdrawal of European industries, with the occupation of the whole world by the industrial products of the East, with the strategic contraction of the United States, and with the substantial disintegration of NATO, can the Europeans still maintain their present standard of living?
Let’s just say that the suffering of Europeans is yet to come.
