Hello students, I am Lao Chen. Today we are going to talk about an interesting topic: China’s Advantages in the Eyes of Foreign Journalists.
You know what? Recently, many foreign journalists came to China for interviews, and they were amazed by the development of our country! After going back, they wrote a bunch of articles saying that there are five aspects of China that are so powerful that Europe and the United States can’t even learn from them. Sounds pretty awesome, doesn’t it? Then let’s talk about it today and see what’s going on.
To be honest, when I first heard this statement, I was a little skeptical. After all, although our country is developing rapidly, but with the developed countries than there is still a gap. But if you think about it, there are some places that are quite impressive. I’ll give you a run-down to see what these foreign journalists see as our strengths.
The first is the safe environment. Have you noticed that you don’t have to worry about safety when you go out at night here? The roads are full of people, and it’s very lively. I have a friend who went to the United States to study, and he was afraid to go out at night, saying that the security there is not so good. But look at us, there are cameras everywhere on the road, and the police are always patrolling, which makes people feel very safe.
Interestingly, a foreign reporter told me that there are no more people on the streets after 9pm there, everyone is hiding at home. But here, the night market has just begun! Think about it, isn’t it a happy feeling that we can go out for a late-night snack and shopping in peace?
The second advantage is our food culture. I’m really excited about this! Think about it, how many cuisines are there in China? Just the eight cuisines let a person dazzled, not to mention the local specialties. I remember an American journalist who came to China on a business trip told me that Mr. Chen, I don’t even feel like eating a burger anymore.
Think about it, we can eat all kinds of food in any snack street. Kebabs, steamed buns, pancakes, steamed dumplings, just thinking about it makes your mouth water, doesn’t it? Look at foreign countries, although they also have their own specialties, but the variety and taste compared to us, it is really a lot worse.
And our highways are so well-connected that it’s easy to go anywhere. I heard that the highways in some countries are in such a bad state of repair that they are full of potholes and you can’t even drive fast. But look at us, the highway is so beautifully constructed, it’s like flying.
The fourth advantage is the ability to innovate. This may not be your usual feeling, but it is actually quite powerful. For example, our 5G technology is now leading the world. When you use your cell phones, have you ever found that the Internet speed is particularly fast? That is the credit of 5G.
Artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles and other high-tech fields, our country is also developing rapidly. Many of the apps you use now are actually supported by artificial intelligence technology. These technologies not only make our lives more convenient, but also drive the development of the whole country.
The last advantage is the prosperity and beauty of our cities. Have you ever been to some big cities? Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, these places are especially beautiful with skyscrapers and bright lights. I have a friend who came to Shanghai for the first time and was amazed at the night view of the Bund, saying it was even more beautiful than New York.
And our city construction is not only beautiful, but also pay special attention to the practicality. The subway is well connected, the buses cover a wide area, it is very convenient to travel, and the shopping malls have everything you need, so you can buy whatever you want. This kind of prosperous scene really impresses many foreign tourists.
Well, students, let’s talk about this today. Do you think these foreign journalists are right? What other advantages does our country have that they didn’t mention? Welcome to share your thoughts with me in the comments section. Remember, we have to look at these advantages objectively and rationally, and neither be presumptuous nor blindly arrogant. Our country does have a lot to be proud of, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. I hope you can keep this dialectical way of thinking, not only proud of the development of our country, but also always keep motivated to contribute to the future development of our country. See you next time!
