By Mike Isaac Sheera Frenkel Kate Conger in The New York Times Date 2025 1 10 Press Release This is a New York Times article on the behind-the-scenes, interviewing many of the people involved in the past week as Zuckerberg has been pursuing a fierce rightward policy on the Meta platform. As you can see, after Trump’s election victory, Zuckerberg seemed like a different person, making a drastic and rapid push for a drastic policy dash to align his platform and his personal political persona more closely with Trump’s MAGA tech-right wing. This time, he ruthlessly autocratic a, in person to lead the minimization of the discussion on the basis of top-down, fast clapboard rush to implement, boldly abolished all the redundant speech control policy DEI employee system and transgender white left woke related to a variety of internal policies and practices, alarmed the United States of America’s politics, industry, the media, public opinion and the intellectual community. Politically, Zuckerberg and Meta have effectively rejected many of the core values, standards, norms, and institutional foundations taken for granted by the liberal left. With the policies the company is now pursuing, one would think of it as a right-wing conservative company if placed in the run-up to the 2024 election, and it seems that the values are more like those of a Musk-owned company than those of a mainstream Silicon Valley powerhouse. Not surprisingly, Musk has publicly welcomed Zuckerberg’s initiative. Zuckerberg has two goals, one is to seek political alignment with the new politics, which can be explained by knowing when to do so, or described as a desire to survive. A number of people have criticized Zuckerberg for being a political fence-sitter, a speculator, a jumper. But there’s another purpose, which is actually more legitimate and more important, and that is that Zuckerberg is inherently identified with these things. Turns out, he’s just another tech right-winger who’s been hiding for a long time, embedded in Silicon Valley, dressed up as a progressive, a liberal, and never revealed his identity. Zuckerberg has always been very low-key and discreet, avoiding getting involved in politics and hiding himself very deeply, and the 2016 Russian election meddling case has made him extremely passive, and the situation is that censoring the content is not to offend the Republican Party, and not to censor the content is not to offend the Democrats. This situation makes him very painful. To take into account, after all, he is a social media start-up entrepreneurs, have the original heart and feelings, the bones may prefer to see a wide range of adequate top-down loud release type of discussion, and do not like the control and restriction. And purely from the perspective of business logic, control is also illogical. As the boss of a company, in terms of public opinion policy, he may have long been surrounded and suppressed by the white left inside and outside the company, so he is unable to act on his own, and he himself has all along had reservations about the set of extreme leftist progressives, and deep down in his heart, he does not approve of them. Now that the landscape has changed, with a bigger target in Musk rushing ahead, and with a more open policy, X has suddenly become a fiddler, not only more politically aligned, but giving Meta a new business competition problem. In this new environment, perhaps Zuckerberg can finally be firm in his convictions, stop pretending, and dare to be open about his political views, overhauling his policies and publicly exposing the unethical things they’ve been forced to do by the Biden administration. And the bottom line is that Zuckerberg may think that his long-hidden political views and positions actually match the pulse of the new era of ideological Zeitgeist, and that he can speak out with a straight face without being insulted by it. In this way, Zuckerberg’s change of position is more like a political coming out. There’s an inherent contradiction here, even though Zuckerberg and Meta may be pointing more toward transgenderism and not wanting to get involved in racial controversy, because he and many of the executives and staffers described in the article are Jewish. You could still argue that this is a Jewish company. He certainly doesn’t want to get into race, but unfortunately race is one of the most important aspects of social discourse, more so than transgender, abortion, and so on. And MAGA’s kernel is actually anti-Semitic, no different than the kernel of all the European right wing, the far right. That’s why Trump’s politics are unconditionally pro-Israel on the surface, but MAGA’s base is anti-Semitic at heart, and the MAGA X platform after it’s been fully liberalized has become the world’s largest anti-Semitic, anti-Israel platform. And historically, it’s only been liberals, leftists, progressives that have protected Jews as a minority group that has been historically discriminated against and victimized, which is why 70% of American Jews still support the Democrats. By allowing his social media platform to give in to the right wing, the far right, Zuckerberg is opening a Pandora’s box of anti-Semitism. To take a lesser example, it’s as if the largest German Jewish media outlet bowed to the anti-Semitic far-right on the eve of the Nazis’ rise to power in the 1930s by removing publishing rules on policies restricting racist speech.2025 1 11 The full text is about 3,700 words, with the content moderately adjusted according to the Chinese expression habits and the context Full text Zuckerberg lets only a very small number of people know what he thinks.
Zuckerberg has two goals in mind: one is to seek political alignment with the new politics, which can be explained by knowing when to do so, and the other can be described as survivalist. A number of people have criticized Zuckerberg as a political fence-sitter, a speculator, and a clown.
But there’s another purpose that’s actually more plausible and more important, which is that Zuckerberg originally identified with these things. Turns out, he’s just another tech right-winger who’s been in hiding for a long time, embedded in Silicon Valley, dressed up as a progressive, a liberal, and never revealed his identity. In this way, Zuckerberg’s shift in position is more like a political coming out.
There’s an inherent contradiction here, even though Zuckerberg and Meta may be pointing more toward transgenderism and not wanting to get involved in racial controversy, because he and many of the executives and staffers described in the article are Jewish. You could still argue that this is a Jewish company. The author, an American expert on East Asia who teaches at Tama University in Japan, describes the global impact of the development of China’s electric vehicle industry. The author begins with his observations in China, where the rapid rise of electric vehicles, as evidenced by changes in road models, has not only increased the local share of electric vehicles, but has also helped China to become the world’s largest exporter of automobiles. The author argues that it is no longer possible for foreign car companies to compete effectively in the mainstream Chinese market, and that they should worry about the impact of Chinese cars on their own local markets. The author then discusses the accusations made by the U.S. and Western countries against China’s automotive industry, which are simply viewed as industrial subsidies and unfair trade competition. The author points out that this is only scratching the surface, but not the essence, which is that Chinese automotive companies are leading a fundamental shift in business and technology models. The author marvels at China’s emergence as a leader in green technology and its mastery of technological capabilities capable of rewriting the social and economic order. The rise of China’s automotive industry is a technological feat, a commercial success, a law enforcement tool, a triumph of a political and economic model, and a surprise soft-power victory. This case also illustrates once again the need for foreigners to come to China more often, including Chinese experts on Asian issues, who can only see and understand on the ground what they can’t see on the Internet. 2025 1 12 Full text of about 3,100 words, the content of which is moderately adjusted according to the Chinese expression habits and the context of the main text I was in China for some time during the holidays. My son was in Shanghai for a baseball camp, which was interesting in itself, and the rest of the trip was just family stuff. As usual, I’ve been keeping an eye out for changes that have occurred since my last visit. One of my indicators of change is the automobile, and I look at the cars on the road to get a sense of the economy. It’s a crude, unique, and probably inaccurate method, but it gives me something to do. For example, ten years ago, most of the old, worn-out cars, the old models, especially those favored by cabs, disappeared. The Shanghai World Expo contributed to this change to some extent. The Los Angeles fires have destroyed more than 5,000 buildings, evacuated more than 100,000 people and caused hundreds of billions of dollars in damage. Many neighborhoods, such as the affluent Palisades, have been leveled and devastated. The immediate devastation of the fires was of course unprecedented, but the wider political, economic and social impacts will take much longer to materialize. With large swaths of neighborhoods completely destroyed and gone, there will certainly be upward pressure on housing prices and inflation in the short term, and with rapid rebuilding of housing and community infrastructure never being a strong suit of the United States, a portion of the population may move out of California, resulting in irreversible losses. The political blame and finger-pointing began long before the fires were extinguished, and it’s part natural disaster, part man-made, who’s to blame. But one thing’s for sure, the seemingly promising governor of California, Gavin Newsom, will be the most direct casualty of the fires. California’s governance problems have been completely exposed in this fire. The political star who had the ambition and ability to take on MAGA politics on behalf of the Democratic Party in the 2028 election is afraid that his political career at the national level has been brought to a premature end before it has even begun.2025 1 11 Full text of about 2,600 words, the content of which has been adjusted according to the habits of expression and the context of the Chinese text Full text On Thursday, the Pacific Palisades Pacific Palisades, the devastation of the massive destruction that befell the community became clearly apparent as fires leveled large areas of the community, leaving it in a shocking state of disrepair. Write-up Editorial in Le Monde Date 2025 1 10 Press Release An editorial in Le Monde, one of France’s largest newspapers, calls on Europeans to stand up and boycott Musk, Zuckerberg, and the elected U.S. president behind them, in defense of Europe’s sovereignty, institutional values, and ideals. But the editorial is more about emotions and discontent, about slogans and lack of concrete means. At its core, is Europe really sovereign? When you are completely dependent on the United States militarily, how can you be sovereign? And now the so-called American tech bigwigs are interfering in European politics, and the platforms of fermentation are actually social media on the Internet. The next question is, when all the mainstream social media in Europe are American American corporations, American capital, American tech moguls, and deeply tied to the American government, politicians, and political power, do you have Internet sovereignty? I’m afraid not. The French broadsheet shouts a lot of pretty slogans, but it doesn’t unite Europe. The reality that Europeans need to face is that Europe’s political, cultural, value history has determined that Europe will be forever broken up into a myriad of small, hard-to-unite nations. They are powerless to confront the only giant empire in contemporary Western civilization, the United States, and can only play the role of a vassal state. 2025 1 12 Full text of about 1,200 words, the content of which is moderately adjusted according to the habits of expression and the context of the Chinese Full text A sudden offensive from across the Atlantic has taken Europeans, who are accustomed to keeping a close eye on the eastern front, by surprise.
