On March 2, 2025, under the operation of Britain’s shit-stirrers, 16 European countries ran to London to convene a so-called summit on Ukraine, and the consensus reached was to form a coalition of the willing to continue to provide assistance to Ukraine and support it in fighting Russia to the end. As to how many people will die in Ukraine in the end, and whether Russia will be dragged down, it seems that it is not at all within the scope of consideration of Britain and France and other European countries.

One last 2 understandings!

On March 6, at a special EU summit, the leaders of 26 of the 27 EU countries reached an agreement on further support for Ukraine. Only Hungary was in opposition.

On March 7, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated in an interview that there is no need to speed up the negotiations on Ukraine’s EU membership, and that every detail must be thought through. This is not the time to make a responsible decision on Ukraine’s EU membership.

Orbán said that the way the EU is now trying to support Ukraine while at the same time increasing its own defense spending will destroy Europe. It’s time for this war to end, and if Europe continues in this way, then every last penny of our money will be spent on this war.

Not coincidentally, on March 1, Slovakian Prime Minister Fico said on social media that Slovakia would not support Ukraine economically or militarily to continue the conflict and that European countries should increase their own defense capabilities. Fico criticized the Anglo-French strategy of peace through strength, which he described as unrealistic and a pretext for continuing the conflict.

More cruelly, Fico revealed to the world the truth that Ukraine will never be strong enough to negotiate with the other side using its military might.

Fico warned that if the EU summit does not consider other points of view than the continuation of the conflict, the negotiations could reach a deadlock and fail to reach an agreed conclusion on Ukraine.

Orbán and Fico are the last two people in the EU who understand.

II The only anti-war people?

At the European summit on March 6, Orban criticized the 26 EU countries for choosing war over peace , and refused to sign a joint statement.

Regarding the Russia-Ukraine war, Orban hit the nail on the head when he questioned If a war lasted 3 years, 26 EU countries and the US jointly supported Ukraine, but the Russians still won on the front line. Now that the U.S. is out of the picture, why do the other 26 EU countries have a chance to see this war through to the end?

Therefore, Orbán believes that the EU’s position lacks a rational basis. With the current policies, it is simply impossible for Europe to embark on a path of growth.

Since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, the Hungarian government has always been a staunch anti-war activist within the EU. Orbán has repeatedly stated publicly that he is the only anti-war head in Europe, advocating a ceasefire through direct negotiations with Russia.

On March 6, some MEPs are urging EU leaders to implement reforms that seek to strip Hungary of its voting rights in the EU.

In January 2024, 120 MEPs signed a joint letter calling on EU member states to investigate whether Hungary is persistently violating EU values and demanding that Hungary be stripped of its voting rights.

Orbán made a video message accusing the EU of falling under the rule of an oligarchy of liberal and transatlantic elites, and attempting to threaten Hungary with, among other things, the revocation of voting rights.

Katarzyna Pisarska, president of the Warsaw Security Forum, claimed that finding a way to deal with Orbán had become a top priority for the EU, which is expected to bypass Hungary in the coming weeks through increased cooperation and voluntary coalition-style programs.

On top of that, Orbán doesn’t actually welcome Ukraine into the EU. Simply put, unlike France and Germany, which need Ukraine’s resources and labor, Ukraine’s accession to the EU would have a direct impact on EU agriculture, and Ukrainian immigrants into Hungary would put pressure on the region.

Therefore, Orbán called for a referendum to solicit public opinion.

III Not alone!

In fact, in terms of their attitudes towards Russia, Orbán and Fizzo are highly aligned in their positions.

The Russian-Ukrainian conflict has pushed up inflation in Europe, and Hungary, as a highly indebted country with a deficit of more than 100 percent of GDP, can hardly bear the financial burden of long-term assistance to Ukraine.

Hungary and Slovakia are both dependent on cheap energy from Russia, and the consequence of the EU cutting off energy trade with Russia is the purchase of U.S. liquefied natural gas LNG as a substitute, leading to higher industrial manufacturing costs and a decline in economic competitiveness.

Upon Fico’s return to the center of power in October 2023, Slovakia’s policy was fundamentally reversed. The day after he took office, he announced the cessation of military aid to Ukraine, stating that there was no military solution to the war and that Ukraine would have to give up parts of its territory . Previously, Slovakia had been one of the most active aid donors to Ukraine, providing a cumulative total of 680 million euros in military aid, representing 0.65 percent of its GDP, as well as 13 MiG 29 fighter planes and air defense systems.

The shift in Slovakia’s stance is mainly due to a combination of public fear of a continuing war and soaring energy prices.70 The Slovak public opposes the continuation of aid to Ukraine, arguing that Slovakia should not pay for the wars of others.

As of January 1, 2025, Slovakia is facing a gas cut-off due to the transit of Russian gas through Ukraine. As a key transit country for Russian gas to Europe, the Ukrainian blockade directly threatened Slovakia’s gas supply60 . A furious Slovakia then cut off electricity aid to Ukraine and threatened to take reciprocal countermeasures. Prime Minister Fico publicly mocked Zelensky’s arrogance, saying that we are not the servants of Ukraine.

Slovakia’s pro-Russian stance led to a deterioration of relations with its traditional ally, the Czech Republic and Poland.

Czech President Zeman said Slovakia had betrayed European values, while Poland feared a new Iron Curtain within the EU.

There are already open divisions within the EU over the response to the Russia-Ukraine conflict.

IV Nothing more!

In fact, by using Trump’s abandonment of Ukraine to cry out for a nuclear umbrella to the EU, France has already manifested its strategic ambition to revive the glory of France by binding the EU countries.

However, Macron’s choice of partner turned out to be British Prime Minister Starmer.

Macron seems to have forgotten Britain’s centuries-old strategy of offshore checks and balances on the continent!

There is no doubt that France’s fledgling ambitions will surely be stomped out by the Anglo-Saxons joining forces.

From this point of view, Macron’s strategic vision is neither as good as Orbán’s nor Fizeau’s.

Although France is bigger than Hungary and Slovakia, the level of the president may not always be high. This objective fact is always easy for the world to ignore.

People seem to habitually think that the voices of big countries seem to be more correct, but in fact they are not more correct, but the voices of big countries are more easily heard by the world.

That is all!
